Court to Consider Spouse’s Contribution as a Homemaker

Filed under: Homemaker Contribution — admin @ 7:41 am

The court is to consider contributions of a spouse as a homemaker or to the family in making the award of marital property, where evidence revealed that, although at times the couple employed domestic help, wife contributed substantial services as a homemaker over the long duration of the couple’s marriage and, moreover, she also helped to entertain executives and customers, an award to wife of just 22% of marital property was an abuse of discretion.  In re Aschwanden
